Sayenko Kharenko team won a GAFTA arbitration

Sayenko Kharenko international arbitration team won a GAFTA arbitration between Ukrainian agro traders under the grain sale contract.

The arbitration proceedings initiated by the buyers against the client of Sayenko Kharenko concerned damages compensation for the alleged breach of the sellers’ obligations under the grain sale contract. GAFTA tribunal agreed with the arguments of Sayenko Kharenko team and dismissed the claims amounting to more than USD 1 million, having established that it was the claimant who committed a breach of the contract by unlawfully declaring the sellers in default.

Sayenko Kharenko’s team included counsel Olena Perepelynska and associate Tetyana Makukha.
