Sayenko Kharenko attended Black Sea Defence & Aerospace 2026 in Bucharest – one of the region’s key defence and security platforms, bringing together manufacturers, military representatives, government stakeholders and industry leaders from across Europe.

Regional defence cooperation around Ukraine is no longer limited to political alignment. It is increasingly becoming industrial, operational and business-driven. A recurring theme across discussions was Romania’s growing role as a regional hub for defence-sector cooperation with Ukraine – with conversations centred on practical implementation rather than declarations, from localisation initiatives and manufacturing partnerships to long-term industrial cooperation.

The scale of participation reflected the broader transformation of the market: from startups and ammunition producers to major international defence manufacturers, aviation and air defence systems companies.
