Sayenko Kharenko attended XPONENTIAL Europe 2026 in Düsseldorf – a three-day event bringing together over 360 exhibitors from 43 countries to discuss the future of autonomous systems, with industry leaders, policymakers and technology companies.

What stood out was not just the scale of innovation, but the shift in expectations. Technologies that were once considered experimental are now expected to work in real-world conditions and at scale.

Ukraine is increasingly recognised as a source of tested, field-proven solutions. Drones and counter-drone technologies are becoming a priority across Europe. Early examples of joint development and localisation are already emerging. And the conversation is shifting from standalone products towards integrated systems, infrastructure and continuous operations.

As defence technologies scale, regulatory complexity is becoming a key factor – structuring partnerships, navigating export controls and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions are now part of the core discussion.
