Andy Hunder appointed President of American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine

Andy Hunder, a former GR lead at Sayenko Kharenko and an internationally recognised professional in Ukrainian Public Affairs, was appointed as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine effective 15 April 2015.

In his new role, Andy Hunder will be responsible for taking forward the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, further growing the organization in being the leading voice of the internationally oriented business community in Ukraine. Andy will be responsible to lead the team being a reliable partner for over 600 Chamber member companies and key external stakeholders at this challenging time advocating for the adoption of legislation and reforms in line with international standards, as well as bringing world’s best practices and innovations into doing business in Ukraine.

“I think that Hunder is an excellent choice for the chamber. The obvious focus of business associations at these times is providing for a meaningful dialogue with the state,” – Michael Kharenko, co-founding partner of Sayenko Kharenko, said. “We appreciate the contribution Hunder made into shaping and setting the standards for Sayenko Kharenko’s government relations practice, which is now fully operational and successful”.

Currently Sayenko Kharenko’s GR practice is coordinated by Tatyana Slipachuk, Sayenko Kharenko partner, who combines legal and advocacy skills with strategic experience developed over decades of work on an extensive variety of legislative, regulatory, and policy projects.

We have witnessed a growing interest of business to develop an efficient strategy of interaction with the Ukrainian regulator. The Government has also been taking steps to have a dialogue with private sector and improve the environment for doing business in Ukraine. Government relations in Ukraine based on the highest level of the judicial platform is definitely becoming as topical as ever,” – Tatyana commented.
