Sayenko Kharenko partner elected to the Board of the Ukrainian Bar Association

On 22 May 2015, Volodymyr Sayenko, a partner with Sayenko Kharenko, was voted to serve as the Ukrainian Bar Association (the UBA) Board Member. Mr. Sayenko was one of the founding members of the UBA back in 2002 and served on its Board until 2005, securing the UBA’s smooth and successful start. This time he will be responsible for expanding the international efforts of the organisation.

“The legal environment in Ukraine as well as the legal profession are facing a period of important changes. The role of lawyers and the standards of legal practice should make a huge leap towards the European standards. My decision to invest time into serving on the UBA Board evidences the commitment and willingness of Ukraine’s legal community to contribute to the development of legal profession and to increase the international awareness about the UBA as the leading association of lawyers in the country”, – comments Volodymyr Sayenko.

Before being elected to the Board, Mr. Sayenko held the post of the UBA International Relations Officer, coordinating collaboration and establishing ties of the UBA internationally.

Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) – all-Ukrainian public organization, founded in 2002 to bring together lawyers for a strong and influential professional community, which would become a powerful voice of the legal profession of the country. Since 2006, the Ukrainian Bar Association is a member of the International Bar Association (ІBA). It also maintains close relations with the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and the American Bar Association (ABA).
