TM filings from the announcement of the martial law in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 until May 2022 (infographics)

Martial law in Ukraine is obviously not an excuse to wait with trademarking your brand. Did you know that the Ukrainian Intellectual Property Office is fully operating during the martial law? The statistics of trade mark filings for the period since 24 February until 1 May 2022 show that many rights holders care about protecting their brands. Almost every third national trade mark application was filed by non-Ukrainian resident. Check out the main takeaways from the infographic prepared by SK’s IP & TMC practice. The martial law will be cancelled sooner or later, but a good IP lawyer knows very well the value and weight of client’s trade mark priority in the overall success of their IP enforcement strategy.
