Sayenko Kharenko becomes a UNIC Member

Sayenko Kharenko is honoured to announce that the firm has become a member of the UNIC – Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance.

The Network was launched in 2017 by the Business Ombudsman Council, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development as a new initiative for businesses that want to work transparently.

The purpose of the Network is to promote the idea of doing business ethically and responsibly. Network members commit to maintain a good business reputation and constantly improve their compliance standards according to the best international practices.

Sayenko Kharenko’s joining the Network further demonstrates its commitment to asserting zero tolerance towards corruption and working in accordance with its anti-corruption program, which is being regularly updated in line with all applicable laws. Moreover, UNIC membership has become an organic step for Sayenko Kharenko in developing its Compliance and Investigations practice. The respective team is led by the EU qualified attorney Ario Dehghani, who is one of the most experienced experts in Ukraine in preventing, identifying, eliminating, and mitigating compliance risks at both national and global levels.

Sayenko Kharenko’s compliance and investigations practice has in-depth experience in setting up compliance programs and running investigations under the regulatory requirements of Ukraine, the UK, the EU, and the USA following compliance allegations involving corruption, fraud, bribery, money laundering, and sanctions violations. We help businesses who are doing business in Ukraine to get a global markets perspective and be resilient to any compliance challenges they may face.

Counsel Ario Dehghani comments: “Corruption has been a part of doing business in Ukraine for a very long time. But today, we may see that more and more business representatives, government authorities, and society, in general, recognize the problem and show their readiness to fight the issue. I have no doubt that the UNIC has a great future ahead and will be one of the main players influencing and encouraging fighting corruption in Ukraine. That is why it is a great pleasure for Sayenko Kharenko to become the Network’s member and be able to shape its future agenda.”
