Tatyana Slipachuk, partner at Sayenko Kharenko, was elected to the organizing committee of the “International Arbitration at a Crossroads: Is There a Coming Backlash?”conference, presented by the IBA Arbitration Committee and supported by the IBA European Regional Forum. The conference will take place on 28 June in St. Petersburg.
The conference will focus on the problem of co-existence of international arbitration with the state courts within national jurisdictions and in cross-border projects, in particular the effectiveness of state courts in enforcing arbitration awards, parallel court and arbitral proceedings, etc.
The event will bring together well-known arbitration practitioners from the leading international law firms and arbitration institutions, including Debevoise & Plimpton, Clifford Chance, White & Case, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, The International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Supreme Court of Arbitration of the Russian Federation and others.
Tatyana Slipachuk will also chair the fourth session of the conference, focused on the need of regulation of the international arbitration proceedings, complexity of international arbitration (disclosure, excessive expert witnesses, voluminous submissions, lengthy hearings) and the need for a transnational law on international arbitration.
