Sayenko Kharenko advised on the new Eurobond issue and tender offer by Ukraine’s leading energy holding

Sayenko Kharenko acted as legal counsel to Deutsche Bank, ING, J.P. Morgan, Sberbank CIB, UniCredit, and VTB Capital, joint lead managers of the USD 600 million 7.875% Eurobond issue due 2018 by DTEK, Ukraine’s leading energy holding.

DTEK has also announced in the course of this transaction a tender offer and consent solicitation with respect to the outstanding USD 500 million Eurobonds due 2015. As a result of such tender offer, arranged by Deutsche Bank and J.P. Morgan, the issuer has successfully bought back from the investors 60% of its outstanding Eurobonds.

DTEK is the largest energy company in Ukraine. DTEK’s enterprises operate effectively in coal mining and preparation, and electricity generation, distribution, and sales. The company is part of System Capital Management Group (SCM).

Sayenko Kharenko’s team for the current transaction included senior associate Igor Lozenko, associates Marta Hontaruk and Olena Krasna and was led by partner Nazar Chernyavsky.
