Sayenko Kharenko advised on the USD 500 mln Eurobond issue by Oschadbank
Sayenko Kharenko acted as legal counsel to Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan, the lead-managers of the USD 500 million 8.875% loan participation notes due 2018 for the purpose of providing a loan to “State Savings Bank of Ukraine” (“Oschadbank”), Ukraine’s 3rd largest bank.
According to Denys Kiryeyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, “the funds raised will be used for the further development of Oschadbank’s business.”
Oschadbank was the third successful issuer in the Ukrainian banking sector in the first quarter of 2013, following the placements by Ukreximbank and PrivatBank. “The financial sector has been active. Ukraine is seeing a flurry of bond issuance”, – reads International Financing Review (part of Thomson Reuters).
Following the Eurobond placement by the state of Ukraine in December 2012, Sayenko Kharenko advised on all Eurobond offerings in the Ukrainian banking sector so far in 2013 totalling over USD 2 billion.
Sayenko Kharenko’s team for the current transaction included associates Anton Korobeynikov, Marta Hontaruk, and Olena Krasna and was led by partner Nazar Chernyavsky.
