Sayenko Kharenko advises Canada on the CAD 5 billion loan to Ukraine

Sayenko Kharenko has acted as Ukrainian legal counsel to the Government of Canada in connection with the new CAD 5 billion loan to Ukraine. The loan has a 30-year maturity and was provided under the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) Loan initiative providing for repayment and servicing the loan using future revenues received from immobilised russian sovereign assets.

The ERA Loan initiative will disburse approximately USD 50 billion (EUR 45 billion) for the benefit of Ukraine as bilateral loans from G7 members.
