Sayenko Kharenko advises EBRD on EUR 10 million loan to Bank Lviv to support Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises affected by war

Sayenko Kharenko has acted as Ukrainian legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on providing EUR 10 million loan to Bank Lviv under EBRD’s Resilience and Livelihoods Framework.

Bank Lviv will on-lend the funds to private small and medium-sized enterprises affected by the war, including its clients in the food security sector and businesses relocated to the Western Ukraine.

The financing is structured as an A-loan of up to EUR 4.25 million for the EBRD’s account and a B-loan of up to EUR 5.75 million for the account of impact investors, including EUR 4.75 million jointly contributed by the European Fund for Southeastern Europe (EFSE) and the Green for Growth Fund (GGF).

EBRD is the largest international financial investor in Ukraine. EBRD has made a cumulative commitment of more than EUR 15 billion since the start of its operations in the country in 1993.

Bank Lviv is a regional MSME-focused bank with 19 branches in Western Ukraine.

Sayenko Kharenko team was led by partner Igor Lozenko and included senior associate Denis Nakonechnyi, associate Oleksandr Motin and paralegal Yevgen Koval.
