Sayenko Kharenko highly commended in the ‘Law Firm of the Year for Russia and CIS’ category at The Lawyer European Awards

Sayenko Kharenko, a leading law firm based in Ukraine, was highly commended in the category of ‘Russia and CIS’ at the annual ceremony of The Lawyer European Awards held in Berlin and hosted by the former US ambassador Sir Christopher Meyer.

The European Awards, held by The Lawyer, recognized top firms in 16 regional categories out of entrants from 49 European countries. The criteria for winning the award included consistent excellence in the respective sectors, strategic vision, financial performance and growth, strong partnership ethos, market shares, and excellent talent management.

Over the last year, Sayenko Kharenko strengthened its leading position in the core transactional practices in the Ukrainian market. In 2009, the firm was #1 by the number of completed public M&A, finance and capital market deals (Thomson Reuters, Ukrainian Law Firms 2010 league tables). After the financial crisis hit in 2008, SAYENKO KHARENKO developed the country’s leading bankruptcy and restructuring practice, having handled the largest debt restructurings in Ukraine. The firm also substantially expanded the team of dispute resolution lawyers and built up a strong IP practice.
