Sayenko Kharenko’s lawyers spoke at the 4th National Annual Forum “Mergers and Acquisitions in Ukraine”
Leonid Antonenko and Dmytro Korbut, both corporate and M&A counsels at Sayenko Kharenko, were recent speakers at the 4th National Annual Forum “Mergers and Acquisitions in Ukraine”. The conference took place on 27 November in Kyiv and was hosted by Conference House Company.
The conference, dedicated to the current condition of M&A market, highlighted new effective tools and ways of solution of existing problems Ukrainian business face in the process of preparation and conduction of M&A transactions.
Mr. Antonenko’s presentation was part of a panel discussion concerning participation and impact of the state in M&A transaction. Leonid’s report addressed such peculiar aspects of governmental interference with M&A transactions in Ukraine as state registrar’s scrutiny of the transactions with the shares in limited liability companies and involvement of securities brokers in the transactions with shares in joint stock companies. He focused on the recent legislative proposals to reform the registrar’s role and outlined the advantages and drawbacks of these proposals.
Mr. Korbut briefed the audience on the peculiarities of M&A issues for a public company in the banking sector. In particular, Dmytro spoke on corporate law issues and obtaining regulatory approvals for M&A deals within the banking sector, and on legislation issues in the field of securities.
