Svitlana Gurieieva leads Sayenko Kharenko’s real estate & construction practice. With over 20 years of practical experience in both Ukrainian and international companies she advises extensively on a wide range of litigation, M&A, compliance, commercial law, and IP issues still having a primary focus on real estate matters.
Over the years, Svitlana has been working on real estate and land matters, including acquisition of ownership of land plots, conclusion of land lease and sublease agreements, negotiations with landlords, owners, public authorities and local governments agencies as well as representing her employers before Ukrainian courts in real estate disputes related to illegal takeover of land plots, tax disputes and disputes over declaration of ownership.
Her wealth of industry expertise in Ukraine’s retail sector covers advising on all legal issues that may arise in the company’s activities in Ukraine, including legal support for the acquisition of retail chain stores, corporate restructuring, developing company’s policies and procedures, monitoring their implementation as a compliance officer, full legal support of all issues related to intellectual property, tax audits, and transfer pricing.
Prior to joining Sayenko Kharenko for 13 years she worked as Head of Legal and Director of Legal Affairs at Auchan Retail Ukraine, one of the largest retailers in Ukraine.
